Who is Dave?
Dave’s Coffee is actually named after David and Sandra’s son, Dave, who works there as well. Although if you ask him, he’ll say it was named for his father. Don’t believe him.
Are Dave’s Coffee and Galapagos owned by different people?
Both Dave’s and Galapagos are owned by David and Sandra Lanning.
Do you serve lunch/dinner?
No we do not. We do however, serve freshly made baked goods 7 days a week.
What, pray tell, are these baked goods you speak of?
Glad you asked. Dave’s is a spontaneous place. The space in the case and the spread on the counter is always being filled with different things. They include (but are not limited to)….
Monster Muffins (like the King Kong of muffins), Scones, Cookies, Banana Bread, Raspberry Cinnamon Twists, Chocolate Croissants, Strawberry Cheese Croissants, Lemon Bars, Elephant Ears, Cinnamon Rolls, Hazelnut Tortes, Chocolate Mousses, White Chocolate Mousses, Turtle Bars, Danishes, and much much more…
How long have you been open?
Dave’s has existed in its current form since Spring of 2003. Before that it was located within Galapagos (albeit much smaller). Over the past 11 years it has evolved from a single coffee machine into a four roomed cafe.

We have two in house computers that are, yes, free of charge to use. Also, the entire shop is WI-FI enabled, so feel free to bring your laptop (come early during the summer though, as it does fill up quickly). All Internet use is free for our customers and can be used for as long as needed.
Who owns that ambulance out front?
The ambulance is owned by Dave’s.
Sweet. What type is it?
It’s a 1941 1/2 ton WC-27 Dodge Ambulance. It was part of the first commissioned fleet of ambulances by President Roosevelt to be sent over to Europe. It was used by the United States Army through WWII up to the end of the Korean War. From there, it bounced from owner to owner until it wound up at a Rhode Island mechanic shop where we found it.

What’s a Rosetta?
A Rosetta is a specially formed pattern made when pouring steamed milk into freshly pulled shots of espresso. The result is an array of loops and swirls that resemble either a Christmas tree or a flower depending on how you look at it.

Could I come in at say, 6:30 in the morning New Years Day?
Dave’s is open 7 days a week from 6am to 6pm, 363 days of the year (just Christmas and Thanksgiving). So to answer your question, yes.
