Until recently, the department of Chimaltenango in Guatemala has not been widely known for it's coffee production. This has been changing thanks to HRNS, a non profit organization formed by the Neumann Family. Since 2015, HRNS has been working with Smallholder Farmers in Chimaltenango to produce traceable coffee by providing resources for better agricultural practices, developing farmer groups, and co-ops and helping with better access to markets.
San Jose Poaquil (a municipality in Chimaltenango) is a great example of the hard work being done in the region. This coffee is very approachable with notes of chocolate, citrus and undertones fruit.
