Customers praised this Papua New Guinea coffee for its smooth, balanced flavor with nutty notes. Many described it as "not bitter" with descriptions like "tastes like a chocolate drink" with milk. The medium roast works well black or with cream. Some found it slightly strong or acidic, though most loved the mellow finish and fresh aroma.

A must have in my household. I wasn’t sure my significant other and I could make it through the five pounder before it became less than fresh. It definitely hasn’t been a problem. Now we stock up with the five pound bag and have great coffee for months.

The only way I start the day.
Everything seems a bit of a struggle, but having my Quonnie first off gives me the hope and normalcy needed for the day. My first entry in my journal every morning.

Great coffee!

I don’t normally like coffee, but I keep hearing coffee is good for you. For me this is smooth and tastes great! So now i can get the benefits of drinking coffee without that harsh bitter taste. By adding cream or almond milk it tastes like a chocolate drink! It’s great!

Hi Jana, We love hearing this. Thanks for giving Quonnie a try, and we’re so glad it’s changed the way you enjoy coffee. - The Dave’s Coffee Team

Impressed with Dave’s but still searching for the best cup of coffee…for me!

I was gifted a bag of Dave’s “Fireside“ coffee which led me to purchase online a bag of Dave’s Quonnie (Papua New Guinea). I’m enjoying both but honestly haven’t found Nirvana. I’m impressed with Café Grumpy‘s Momentum, and Stumptown’s single origin Colombian. Have even found TJ’s single origin Rwanda quite nice. But the search continues… I am a chocolatey, Natti, Cedar in Carmel seeker, and can do without citrus and fruit forward.

Hi James, Thanks for taking Fireside and Quonnie for a spin! We love hearing from fellow coffee enthusiasts, especially those on the hunt for that perfect cup. Based on the flavor notes you described, Power Wagon and Spray Rock sound like they might be right up your alley—both are smooth, low-acid coffees with plenty of cocoa and cedar character. Let us know where the search takes you next! - Your Friends at Dave’s Coffee

First tried your coffee after a seal release at Blue Shutters in Charlestown and I was hooked!

This coffee is a nod to our local beach community (Quonochontaug) located at our original Dave's Coffee bar.

Our Papua New Guinea coffee offers a unique flavor profile that coffee lovers can't resist. Sourced from the lush highlands of Papua New Guinea, this coffee boasts a rich, full-bodied taste with notes of caramel and chocolate, accented by a subtle nutty finish.

The single origin Papua New Guinea makes for a crowd-pleasing coffee. It makes a fantastic drip coffee and a fresh iced.

The story of coffee in Papua New Guinea is unlike any other origin.  Roads are often nonexistent, communities are incredibly remote, and most coffee is grown casually in gardens alongside a family’s food supply. In fact, 99 percent of coffee is grown by individuals with an average farm size of .83 hectares and an average production of 10 bags per year.

Without access to mills, these producers pulp, ferment, wash and dry their own coffee, selling small volumes of parchment. Additionally, due to the extreme lack of access, coffee often makes it to exporters through roadside collections or aggregator pickups. This means the large lots of coffee we see exported are in fact the accumulation of many, untraceable micro-volumes which have been combined for processing.

Small bits of stone or concrete may be found in patio dried coffee. Check carefully to avoid damage to grinders.
