We didn't set out to make a merch hat. We set out to make the hat we'd grab on the way out the door.

This is the Richardson 323FPC Champ - cream cotton twill crown, caramel precurved brim, raised varsity embroidery in our orange with a black outline.

Now look at the top line again. DAVE'S is flipped. That's on purpose.

We took the same collegiate lettering that's been on our bags and our syrup bottles for years and turned the top row over. People squint at it for a second before they get it. That pause is the whole point. It's the difference between a hat with a logo on it and a hat somebody actually asks you about.

It's a structured five-panel with a high crown and a pinch front, so it sits up instead of sagging. Heavier cotton twill means it holds its shape through a summer of beach parking lots, boat rides, and 5 a.m. roast days.

The back is Richardson's Softsnap adjustable strap. One size fits most, men or women, and it's a lot softer on the back of your head than the old plastic snapbacks.
